Privacy Policy

The short version
We collect as little as possible. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and there are no third-party analytics scripts on this site.
What we collect
- Listing details you submit - business name, website, description, and optionally phone and address. These are published on the directory, which is the point of submitting them.
- Your email address - used to confirm receipt, tell you when your listing is approved, and contact you about the listing. It is never published and never sold.
- Your IP address - stored with a submission for abuse prevention, and discarded with the submission record.
- Aggregate counts - how many times a listing's outbound link was clicked, and daily page view totals. These are plain counters with no identifiers attached.
What we do not collect
No cookies are set for tracking or advertising. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar. We do not build profiles of visitors.
No third-party requests
Every file this site loads comes from movesandiego.org: the stylesheet, the font, and each business logo. Business icons are fetched once by our server and stored on our own hosting, and the web font is served from this domain rather than a font CDN. Your browser does not contact Google or any other outside service while you browse the directory.
Processors we rely on
- Cloudflare - hosting, and the database holding listings.
- Stripe - payment processing for featured listings. Card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. See Stripe's own privacy policy.
- Resend - delivery of transactional email (receipt and approval notices).
Retention
Published listing data is kept while the listing is live. Incomplete submissions expire after 24 hours. If you ask us to remove your listing, the listing and the email address attached to it are deleted.
Your choices
Email hello@movesandiego.org to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you or your business. California residents may exercise CCPA rights at the same address; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
Children
The directory is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 13.
